We are pleased to host a fundraising exhibition featuring artwork created by KS Lack for her hybrid chapbook, Kyivsky Waltz: a love story, published by Finishing Line Press. Kara will present her limited edition letterpress art from the book, followed by a reading of selected poems on a nearby rooftop. From the author: “Kyvisky Waltz is my attempt to show Ukraine as I experienced it at age 22: alone, completely lost, unable to communicate; yet somehow managing to find a home and people to love in a new nation with an old history. With this book, I hope to remind people that Ukraine has been—and always will be—much more than a war zone. All of my proceeds are being donated to Razom for Ukraine, a non-profit dedicated to providing Ukrainian humanitarian aid.”
The exhibition will take place at MoonLab 42 from June 15th to June 22nd with an opening event on Saturday, June 15th, from 4:00 to 7:00. KS will read from her book at 5:00 and 6:30. Attendance is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
